SW40 – Unlock EVA2 RFA

SW40 – Unlock EVA2 RFA (Jaguar & Land Rover)

This function allows you to unlock a locked RFA module on Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles equipped with EVA2 systems. Once the RFA is unlocked, all standard RFA functions become available.

After unlocking, you can perform firmware updates, add or remove keys, and replace the RFA module as required.

Unlocks locked RFA modules on EVA2 systems
Restores access to standard RFA operations
Enables firmware updates, key adding and removal, and RFA replacement

Connection Requirements
HW03-E DOIP cable required
Internal CAN connection using HW03-B or HW03-C adapters

Key Requirements
In most vehicles, the function supports all-keys-lost (AKL) situations and does not require working keys
Some vehicles will require two working keys in order to unlock the RFA
When two working keys are present, the function can be performed without connecting to the internal CAN network

Important Package Notes
Only the HW04-C package includes the duplicator required to create keys from locked RFA modules
Function availability is limited to HW04-B and HW04-C packages

Important Limitations
This function unlocks the RFA only
It does not unlock the BCM

To replace an RFA when the BCM is locked, use “Replace RFA with Locked BCM” under Special Functions using SW28.

The function operates only on vehicles with original factory configuration. The vehicle must be fully functional, with no replaced control units or prior unauthorized work. If working keys are present, the engine must start.
