Packages and Equipment

Choosing Your Lock50 System

Which Lock50 package is right for my shop? +
The correct package depends on the types of jobs you want to accept, how frequently you see Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles and whether you need basic key programming or deeper module capability.

A shop primarily handling occasional spare-key jobs may need a different starting point than a locksmith regularly seeing All Keys Lost, locked RFA, BCM, DoIP, IPC or EVA2 situations.

Call (949) 900-9000 and tell us what vehicles and procedures you currently encounter.
What is the difference between HW01 and the HW04 platform? +
HW01 is a more specialized tool focused on supported Alarm Off and file-based procedures. The HW04 platform is a broader and upgradeable system designed for key programming and additional vehicle or module workflows depending on the package level.

The better choice depends on whether you need a focused solution or intend to build a larger JLR service category.
Can I upgrade my Lock50 package later? +
Many HW04 customers can expand their software capability as their workload grows. The available upgrade path depends on the package and hardware currently owned.

Contact Lock50 before purchasing an upgrade so we can confirm the correct activation for your existing system.
What equipment is included with each package? +
Included equipment varies by package and may include the main interface, OBD and DoIP cables, CAN adapters, module adapters, software activation, keys and other accessories.

Review the individual product listing before ordering. The listing for the package you select is the best source for its current contents.
Do I need to purchase keys, RFAs or modules separately? +
Some packages include a limited number of keys, but locksmiths performing regular JLR work should maintain additional inventory.

The appropriate key, RFA or module depends on the specific vehicle and procedure. Lock50 USA maintains supporting inventory in the United States for professional customers.
Vehicles and Procedures

Understanding JLR Capability

Does Lock50 work on every Jaguar and Land Rover? +
No professional automotive tool should be treated as covering every vehicle, configuration and condition.

Support can vary by model year, platform, software version, vehicle condition, security architecture and whether specific modules are locked, unlocked, damaged or replaced. Confirm compatibility before beginning a job.
Can Lock50 handle All Keys Lost jobs? +
Lock50 packages support All Keys Lost procedures on many supported Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The required process depends on the vehicle, alarm condition, module status and package being used.

An All Keys Lost job should not be treated as identical to adding a spare key.
What happens when the vehicle alarm is active? +
An active alarm can prevent a standard programming procedure. The locksmith may need an Alarm Off process before key programming can continue.

The correct method can depend on the vehicle year, communication system, RFA status and Lock50 equipment available.
What happens when the RFA or BCM is locked? +
A locked RFA or BCM can change the required procedure and may prevent a general key programmer from completing the job.

Depending on the vehicle and package, the locksmith may use a supported service-mode procedure, token-based process, module programming function or an advanced locked-module workflow.
What is the difference between CAN and DoIP vehicles? +
CAN and DoIP are different vehicle communication architectures. Many older vehicles primarily use CAN-based procedures, while newer Jaguar and Land Rover platforms may require DoIP communication and authorization.

The correct cable, software and procedure depend on the platform being serviced.
Can Lock50 program or replace RFA and BCM modules? +
Certain Lock50 package levels support RFA or BCM programming, replacement and configuration on compatible vehicles.

These are not universal functions across every package. The correct procedure depends on the module condition, vehicle platform and software capability owned.
Can Lock50 confirm compatibility before I accept a job? +
Contact us with the vehicle year, model, VIN, Add Key or All Keys Lost condition, alarm status, known module condition and the Lock50 package you own.

More complete information allows us to provide better guidance before you commit to the service.
Software, Tokens and Costs

Understanding Ongoing Costs

Are tokens required? +
Token requirements depend on the package and procedure. Pay As You Go is designed around purchasing access as jobs arise, while some complete packages include broader capability with reduced or eliminated key-programming token requirements.

Certain specialized module procedures may still require a token even when ordinary key programming does not.
Is there an annual software subscription? +
Subscription terms vary by product and package level. Some products include lifetime access, some have no annual subscription but use tokens, and others include an initial software period followed by an annual renewal.

Review the current product listing for the exact software terms attached to the package being purchased.
How should I evaluate the cost of a Lock50 package? +
Evaluate the package against the number and value of JLR jobs you currently decline, the capability required to complete them and the ongoing software or token structure.

The lowest purchase price is not always the lowest operating cost for a shop completing JLR work regularly.
Training and Technical Support

Support Beyond the Tool

Do I need prior automotive locksmith experience? +
Yes. Lock50 is intended for professional automotive locksmiths and qualified automotive technicians.

Jaguar and Land Rover work is not an entry-level automotive category. Users should already understand automotive key programming, vehicle communication, safe work practices and professional vehicle-service procedures.
What training does Lock50 provide? +
Lock50 provides educational materials, instructional videos, live training opportunities and guidance related to supported equipment and procedures.

You can also register for the Lock50 Zoom class at lock50usa.com/pages/zoom-class.
How does Lock50 technical support work? +
Lock50 customers can contact the U.S. team for help with product setup, supported workflows, compatibility questions, software issues and technical situations involving Lock50 equipment.

When deeper development-level assistance is required, the U.S. team works with the Lock50 development team.
What information should I provide when requesting support? +
Provide the vehicle year, model, VIN, Add Key or All Keys Lost condition, alarm status, module condition, Lock50 package, software version and the cables or adapters being used.

Include clear screenshots of errors, photos of the connections and an explanation of every step already completed.
Can Lock50 remotely connect to my computer? +
Remote assistance may be available when appropriate, but it depends on the technical situation, equipment, connectivity and support availability.

Remote access does not replace the technician’s responsibility to remain with the vehicle, follow directions and maintain safe control of the procedure.
Does technical support guarantee every job can be completed? +
No. Support can help identify the procedure and troubleshoot supported equipment, but vehicle condition, module failure, prior programming, wiring problems and unsupported configurations may prevent completion.

Compatibility should be confirmed before service whenever possible.
Ordering and Getting Started

What Happens After Purchase

Where does Lock50 USA ship from? +
Lock50 USA maintains equipment and supporting inventory in the United States. Product availability and processing times can vary based on the item ordered.
What happens after I purchase a Lock50 package? +
You will receive order confirmation and shipment information as your equipment is processed. Depending on the product, setup may include software activation, account information, instructional resources and initial guidance.

Review all instructions and confirm your equipment is fully set up before scheduling your first supported job.
Can I speak with someone before ordering? +
Yes. Call (949) 900-9000 and explain your current automotive experience, the JLR jobs you are seeing and the capability you want to build.

We would rather help you choose the appropriate level than have you purchase equipment that does not match your work.
